Old Testament
Micah
Micah is presented here as a book of injustice exposed, judgment announced, corrupt power unmasked, public grief, covenant reckoning, and the stubborn certainty that mercy still belongs to God. This album follows the prophet through stolen fields, bought prophecy, twisted justice, collapsing pride, lament moving town to town, the call to do justice and love mercy, the promise of a ruler from Bethlehem, and the final wonder of a God who pardons and restores. Its vision is severe but not hopeless: a land bruised by greed, violence, and false religion, yet still held inside the larger faithfulness of God.
The album’s sonic identity is outlaw country-rock with a hard electric backbone, built from telecaster bite, overdriven electric guitar, slide guitar, organ, live bass, snare-forward drums, electric fiddle, dobro, pedal steel, and selective harmonica. Its sound moves through hard-driving judgment tracks, rolling outlaw grooves, fiddle-cut warning songs, heavier country-rock pressure, one weeping dust-road ballad, and a closing stretch that opens toward promise, mercy, and strength. Rather than leaning polished, pop-country, or soft Americana, the record stays firmer, darker, and more road-worn, giving Micah a sound that feels rugged, morally urgent, and unafraid of weight.
